Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will assist with various accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, credit card reconciliations, and support on financing information audit
Responsabilities:
- Data entry of financial transactions in our accounting register table (purchases, sales, payroll, etc.) accurately and efficiently.
- Create and maintain a vendor's masters table, add related information to existing vendors.
- Ensure all credit card and ACH transactions are registered in our accounting table with the corresponding vendor’s invoice by collecting invoices from employee reports, emails from vendors, billing login accounts, etc.
- Feed the electronic file of DR Accounts Payable invoices used for DGII and tax reporting, feed and organize physical invoices’ file as well.
- Receive invoices from Purchase department, ensure they comply with PO approved amount, date of reception and invoice date matching, credit terms and validate NCF number using DGII portal.
- Identify DR invoices that apply for ISR or ITBIS retention.
- Send retention letters to vendors.
- Send payment confirmation to recurring vendors.
- Perform a weekly payment projection based on the invoices due dates to present to Finance Lead.
- Apply vendor’s payments to invoice records and archive the payment receipt in the vendors’ files.
- Request account statements to vendors to reconcile with our books and 606 report to DGII. Report any significant discrepancy to tackle the Finance Lead.
- Prepare and assist with the month-end closing process, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- Alert Finance Lead on project and travel expense budgets when they are reaching the limit.
- Assist with tax preparation tasks as needed.
- Submit leads invoices to Lead source base.
- Maintain a strong understanding of internal controls and procedures.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Final year student or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- English: can write, read and communicate effectively.
- Minimum 0-2 years of accounting experience (or internship experience).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) or Airtable.
- Knowledge on taxes reporting in the Dominican Republic
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
